Rudraksha mala rules

A rudraksha mala should have 108+1 beads . The top single rudraksha should be on the backside of the neck. Some people wear it in a reverse way which can give headache. The single top rudraksha is called “bindu”. The energy moves in a circle and gets neutralized at the bindu as the body absorbs the energy in Sushumna naadi at the back of the neck on the spinal cord top. A mala can also have 54 beads. If you wear a mala then you should not do japa with it. If you use a mala to do japa then same mala should not be used to wear. Rudraksha original

To know if a rudraksha is original the best method is microscopic examination and a x-ray test. Insist such laboratory certificates from a reputed lab. Find out the authenticity of the person from who you are buying rudraksha. X-ray test will certify if a 15 mukhi rudraksha has 15 seeds inside or not. That is the best available test now. Old methods of water and magnet tests can be misleading. People get cheated by such tests.

Rudraksha bracelet

You can wear rudraksha as bracelet also. However, keep in mind that, odd mukhi rudraksha like 3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17 etc should be worn on left hand and even number rudraksha like 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18 etc should be worn on the right hand.

Wearing rudraksha eating meat

Rudraksha has nothing to do with your food habits. Rudraksha and religion/tradition should not be linked. People from all religions, regions, and faiths wear rudraksha. There is no restriction on eating meat while wearing rudraksha. However, the wearer slowly feels less interest in meats afterwards.

Can we wear rudraksha while going to toilet

You can wear rudraksha and go to toilets. It is impossible to do such things like removing rudraksha while using toilets. One should be practical. However, one should remove rudraksha while having bath to avoid soap, and shampoo creating layers of chemicals over rudraksha.

Rudraksha wearing rules for females

All females can wear rudraksha irrespective of age. Rudraksha are more useful for women because they are vulnerable to negative energies during menstrual cycles. More and more women are wearing rudraksha now and deriving tremendous benefits out of it.

How to wear rudraksha in thread with what color of threads

white color thread are neutral and any rudraksha can be worn by using this color thread. White is more beneficial for 1,2,4,7, 10 and 13 mukhi rudraksha. Red color thread is good for 3, 6,9,11, and 14 mukhi rudraksha. The green color is most suitable for 15 mukhi rudraksha. The yellow is good for 5 and 18 mukhi rudraksha. The black is good for 8 and 17 mukhi rudraksha. In a multibead mala, put small knots between the rudraksha.

How to wear rudraksha first time

One should do pooja to energize a rudraksha. Chant beeja mantra 108 times of ruling graha or deity of the rudraksha. On the day of wearing rudraksha , have bath, show some agarbattis or dhoop to rudraksha and wear it. Visit a Shiva temple or gurdwara/church/Masjids depending on your faith. It is just to express your gratitude to almighty for giving an opportunity to experiment with powerful storehouse like rudraksha.

Headache after wearing rudraksha

Some people have headache after wearing rudraksha. It can happen if you wear an odd mukhi rudraksha on right hand and/or an even mukhi rudraksha on left hand. Headache can be caused by wearing a mala in which the “bindu” i.e. top single rudraksha is down on the chest area instead of back of the neck.

Rudraksha types

Generally rudraksha are available from 1 to 21 mukhi. For astrological purpose 2 ,3,5,7,8,9,11,13,15, and 17 mukhi rudraksha re used. There are many combinations are made by using different mukhi rudraksha. For example Nava graha mala, Siddha mala, Sarva Siddha mala etc. there are other types like Gauri Shankar ( two rudraksha joined together naturally), Trijuti ( 3 rudraksha naturally joined together), Ganesh rudraksha, bhadraksha ( half moon shaped sold as one mukhi ) etc. The shapes of rudraksha can be round, elliptical, and cylindrical.

Rudraksha wearing rules for females

There are no separate rules for women to wear rudraksha. Women should continue to wear rudraksha even during the menstrual cycles. It will actually protect them from negative energies as the aura is open and porous during menstrual cycles.

Wearing rudraksha while sleeping

You can continue to wear rudraksha while sleeping if it is not uncomfortable to you. If you find uncomfortable then remove and keep it at such a place which is away from mobile phone and TV ( if these are ON.)

Wearing rudraksha while drinking alcohol or cigarettes

There are no restrictions to wear rudraksha while drinking or smoking. However, interests for such things will decline over a period of time after wearing rudraksha.

Wearing rudraksha while having sex

There is no issues if you have sex with your wife/husband/lover while wearing rudraksha. However, you should avoid wearing rudraksha if you intend having sex with unknown person as there is a chance of bad energy contamination.

What is gemstone?

Gemstones are found underneath the earth. Because of tectonic pressure and heat under deep earth, these stones acquire radioactive properties and release ions of chemicals these are composed of. These negative ions interact with electrolytes in our blood plasma to balance our body energies.

What is the differences between natural gemstones and artificial ones?

Natural gemstones are dug from the earth. These are cut and polished but are not treated with colors or heated. Artificial gemstones are manmade with similar chemical properties by using heat and color injection. Natural gemstones are always costlier then the artificial gemstones.

What should be weight of gemstone for wearing in ring? Is 4 to 6 carats okay?

Weight of gemstones (carats) need not be a guiding factor. Some people say that it should be half of body weight without end zero i.e. if your weight is 80 kg then you should wear 4 carat. This has no logic. Some people say that women should wear half weight i.e. if a woman is 80 kg then for man it is 4 carat and for a woman it is 2 carat. These are illogical and have no justification. You should wear a stone irrespective of size.

What is carat and ratti?

If a gemstone weighs one gram then it is equal to 5 carat. One carat / 0.90 = one ratti.
1 gram= 5 carat = 5.5 ratti

How to test original gemstones visually?

All natural gemstones will have some flaws. All manmade gemstones will be clear and more beautiful. Besides that the natural gemstones will have mention that these are unheated and untreated. If it is heated then it would be mentioned in the certificate that there is indication of thermal enhancement. Manmade gemstones certificate will not mention all these.

Are natural gemstones and manmade gemstones same composition wise?

Not all, but many may be same in terms of chemical compositions and Refractive Index (RI). But for sure, natural gemstones are best suitable for astrological purpose.

What are prices of natural gemstones?

Sapphires (yellow sapphire/ white sapphire/ blue sapphire) etc costs around Rs. 25,000/ per carat for 1 to 2 carat range. From 2 to 3 carats, it may cost Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000/. 3 to 4 carats, it is Rs. 60,000/ to Rs. 80,000/ . From 5 to 6 carat, it is Rs.90,000/ to Rs. 1,00,000/.

What are the rates of manmade gemstones?

A manmade gemstone 4 to 6 carat may cost from Rs. 15,000/ to Rs. 30,000/ depending on quality.

When a gemstone will not work?

A gemstone, whether a natural or a manmade will not work if the graha (planet) for which you are using it is in Debilitation (Deb). Rudraksha works for graha, which is in debilitation.

Can a gemstone harm?

YES. If a graha is bad in your chart and you wear a gemstone for that graha then it will harm you. For example, if Shani is bad in your chart and you wear a blue Sapphire then it will harm you. A 17 mukhi rudraksha will help you instead.

How often one can remove gemstone?

No. you should not remove gemstone once you wear except for medical conditions or any other emergency.

What precautions one should take while wearing a natural gemstone?

All natural gemstones are susceptible to chemical reactions. Strong detergents, acids in toilet and paint/perfume/ nail polish remover etc should avoided. All these may react with natural gemstones and crack/ color disfigure can happen. Emerald i.e. Panna becomes dry in summer and can crack. Occasionally a little oil should be applied on emerald gemstone. To keep it moist. Artificial gemstones are safer compared to natural gemstones.

What materials should be used for making rings?

People talk about pancha dhatu and asta dhatu etc. It is very difficult to make such rings. It is safe to use silver for all kinds of gemstones. Yellow sapphire (Pukhraj) can be worn in golden ring.

Which fingers are for different gemstones?

Index finger for Yellow sapphire (Pukhraj) . Middle finger is for Blue Sapphire (Neelam) ,Hessonite( Gomedh), Lahasunia (Cat’s eye). Ring finger is for Ruby (Manik), Coral (Moonga) and White Sapphire/Diamond. Small finger of right hand for Pearl (Moti). Small finger of left hand is for Emerald (Panna).

Ratnapura in Srilanka is famous for all sapphires. Columbia and Zambia are famous for Emerald. Italy and south sea is for corals and pearls. Hessonite and Cats eye are found in Brazil, China, South India and Srilanka.
